The composition of this No Fishing Sign is anchored by an orange color field in its lower half. Several layers of underpainting can be seen peeking through the periphery in white, cream, purple, beige, and sap green. “NO MAJESTY,” written in black ink, sits atop a broad stroke of dun colored paint.
The upper half of the painting is populated by a few large, deliberate marks on the naked cardboard, including the word “FISHING.” The word “NO” has been written in pink chalk atop a swatch of deep French grey.
